I'm going to be building 3 systems here pretty soon all based on the Intel i875P chipset with built in SATA RAID (Intel D875PBZ motherboards), and I was curious... To speed it along a little, could I simply install 2 drives in 1 machine as a RAID mirroring array, and upon installation completion, remove one of the drives and have it be bootable? All the systems are 100% identical, and all have legitimate software licenses (I know how to change keys for XP, but will need to research a little more with Office 2003), so the more identical, the better. Please let me know if this would be possible or if throwing them into a RAID array makes the process more complicated.
Otherwise, what drive mirroring utility would you guys recommend? They're all going to be WD Raptor 74 gig drives.
