Hi guys this is my first time ever thinking of purchasing a SATA Hardrive.
I bought numerous Hardrives in the past and i read some stickys and other people's experiences. I am thinking of buying aSeagate 200GB S-ATA, 8MB cache OEM $157
Cdn. I was just wondering is there anything special i should know before purchasing one?
I know my motherboard supports it. And the wiring uses a special red cable that came with my motherboard. As this is my first time i just wanted to see some other's opinions hopefully i would be able to do it right on my first go. ^____^
 
other than the cable being different, there shouldn't be any surprises.

if you are doing a fresh install of windows, you may be prompted for a driver disk for your sata controller.

well one user did post some stuff about the cables being sensitive to data corruption, dont use too long of a cable and dont use RF by bare cables.. I think. But not a big deal it sounded like. Or no worse than P ata for the most part.
