When i start the boot from WIN XP and its time to press F6 to install the drives of SATA, it doesnt show any screen of install drivers and continues the standard intallation then its doesnt find any HDD and i cant install my Windows XP.I have a Abit AN7 MOBO and a Seagete 120gb SATA HD.

Any ideas for make the F6 works well.

thx

Just to be sure, you do have your floppy drive attached, power and enabled?

Did your hard drive come with any installation software? I would use that to set up your drive for Windows.

Which drivers from the Abit CD did you copy onto the floppy drive? I know it's tricky to get the exact drivers you need with the right textoemsetup file and all that.

Ah hmm... I have never been so lucky to get one of those! Did you press F6 a few times just when it says it? It then proceeds for a little while, and should come up with a screen that asks you to hit S to search the floppy drive for drivers.

I feel your pain... is the drive brand new? Did you test it in another computer? Is it on a SATA (or RAID) controller that needs enabled in the BIOS?

do you know if its anything related to the version of the BIOS cause i have the ones that come with the MOBO installed

i have installed the last version of the bios and it isnt functioning weel yet...

Does it even pause at the place where it would normally check for drivers? If it doesn't, it would seem either Windows XP setup is misbehaving, or your keyboard press isn't registering.

no my keyboard is working properly and it doesnt pause mits continues...ah i have upgrade my cd to SP2 and i have put drivers of SATA in the CD ( http://www.maximumpc.com/2005/01/how_to_slipstre.html ) but when it will load the SATA driver it shows:

The following valour in the file .SIF is corrupted or missing.
Valour 0 in the SCSI section.
With the key "Si3112r."

and it finishes

Si3112 is the name of the sys file for my motherboard for work with SATA
