SATA PCI card recommendations

Hey all, here's my story:

I'm planning a nice upgrade for my system, and have decided to get a shuttle. I really want an Nforce2 shuttle, and I really want to get a raptor for my OS drive. Problem: Shuttle doesn't make an Nforce2 based system with onboard SATA, so I'll have to use the PCI slot to get it up and running.

I'm totally new to SATA and don't know anything about the PCI cards available. I see a few on NewEgg, read some reviews, etc, but I want your opinions. What would be a good card for me to get... RAID isn't necessary if that matters. I only plan on the one Raptor (at least for now) so 2 drives or 4 doesnt really matter either.

Also, I notice now that some companies are trying to jam all they can into a PCI card (usb and firewire and LAN and ...) Is there anything like this with SATA that I should consider seeing as the Shuttle only has one PCI slot?

Thanks guys.

Since you didnt mention how many drives you want I'll just assume a couple.. I've had very good luck with the ADAPTEC 1210SA Serial ATA Raid card.. and its not expensive

I did say that I only plan on the raptor right now, so 2 would be fine. I'll take anything really though.

Thanks for the reply, I'll look into it.
