Ok...I'm looking at two hard drives: WD 80 GB ATA and a WD 160 GB SATA - which one should I get? (80GB is $90. 160 GB SATA is $168) What is the difference between ATA and SATA?

They are two types of connections. You need to find out if your board even supports SATA. And if it does, both drives will perform about the same, but the SATA one is much larger and cheaper (per GB).

I have the Asus P4P800 Deluxe board...does it support SATA?

Now your starting to cross a line.....be careful. Your more than capable of going to Asus's website, or your manual, and finding that out. If you bought the board, you should know this already.

Hehe sorry...it says Serial ATA (but it also came with ATA & SATA cables..so...)

In that case, if you can afford it...get the WD 160 GB. It's big, fast, reliable, and will work in your system.
