sata noob here, need help

Hi, recently got 2 raptor 74GB drives, connected them but only 1 of the drives will appear in the bios.. If I move the drives to different slots the second drive becomes visible and first one disappears.... do I need to change jumper settings?? I’m confused.... help?
 
Make sure both ports are enabled in BIOS; they're probably independently controlled.

 
You shouldn't need to change any jumper settings on SATA drives. I don't think there are any to change anyway...

It is probably what mage said, a BIOS setting. Might want to put your SATA controller in enhanced mode, and make sure that all of the ports are enabled.
