sata install

I just made a new machine using a sata disk as the main drive. Is there a way to use a cd or flash drive or pretty much anything but a floppy disk to get the driver into windows install? I don't have a floppy drive, and do not plan on wasting money on one.

What version of windows?... I am not very familiar with all but I imagine that would help to know

if u just built ur comp then u shouldnt need to install sata drivers, cause i just built mine last year and the motherboards nowadays detect them instantly.

anyways, for my old a7n8x board, i slipstreamed my drivers into my windows xp sp1 disk. other than that i dont know.

Slipstreaming in SP2 and the drivers for your board shouldn't be too hard. I suggest that.

Heh. Maybe i'm just an idiot or something, but doing it both by hand, and with nLite, I was unable to get this to work last time I was playing around with a board with unsupported SATA. Really, the only other option is if your motherboard was able to emulate a USB device as the A:. This may or may not exist, I mean, I've heard of it but never seen it done in real life.

USB Floppy drives do exist and work great as long as your motherboard supports booting from them

Well, actually, I ended up just giving up on that board and using a nvidia 6150-based one that was supposed. I don't rightly know if the SATA ports even function properly on it
