Im looking to upgrade my mobo and cpu, but dont want to replace my disk drives, which are all IDE. I want to know if you can plug normal IDE drives into SATA Or PATA ports and stuff, ive been out of the loop for a while.

Or at least pointed in the direction of somewhere that could explain SATA/PATA etc to me.

IDE=PATA, so your new mobo would likely come with room for 4 or more IDE devices plus some number of sata ports.
