I just bought a Raptor 74gb drive. My bios will not recognize the drive at all. I have all the sata cables connected to my motherboard. I have a 754 socket K8n pro by gigabyte. I went into bios and changed all the functions I could find for sata. Any help on this would be great.
At one point during bios startup it shows the raptor when the sata drive pops up but then it shows no Hdds. I'm thinking of buying a sata control card just to see if that would work. I would rather not though. Any help would be great.

Worse question, do you have power to the drive, a single connector only. Either sata power cable or std, but not both.

Do you already have windows installed? If so does it show up under windows device manager?
