sata hard drive

I have a 120 maxtor ide in my computer
i also have a seagate sata 120gb hard drive

would it be possible to put it in there and not encounter any problems?
my mobo does support sata.

amd athlon xp 3000+
asus a7n8e-deluxe
120 gb maxtor ide
tdk cdrw
 
It really depends on your power supply. Powering up hard drives when your system is starting up is what taxes your power supply the most, so having a beefy power supply here is important. What do you have right now?
