I have a desktop and I'm going to need to keep swapping in and out
various hard drives.

Does anybody have any comments on this hard drive drawer/caddy
system from Startech?

A similar product by Kingwin is:

There's also a similar product called EZ-Swap from Vantec.

Right now, I'm leaning toward Kingwin (because of price), but if anybody had
comments on durability or possible issues, they would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Depending on your usage, this may or may not be ideal:

It's a 5.25" HD Hotswap bay that is trayless - you just slide a bare SATA drive in and lock it. Also available in 3in2 and 4in3 varieties. Obviously if you're looking for caddies to transport drives in etc it's not what you need, but otherwise it looks pretty good - avoid messing with caddies and so forth.

Hunter: I plan to swap hard drives in and out fairly often,
so I think the trayless option will just result in excessive
wear and tear on the connectors of my SATA drives.

But thanks for your post.

Most SATA hot swap bays including those that use trays are designed to connect the drive directly to the housing. I have never seen one that doesn't do this.

I swap my sata drives in and out almost daily, they are made for this kind of a thing.
