Do I need to install SATA drivers for the 10k Raptor 74gb on a Neo2 Plat? I managed to installed windows and am using the drive fine without installing any drivers, but I'm afraid that it may be affecting performance.

How did you get windows to notice the drive without the drivers?

I had to dig out an old floppy to install windows on my raptor in my shuttle...

No idea. I just plugged the SATA drive in, checked the BIOS and it saw it, and then I just simply installed windows on it.

If your motherboard is detecting it during the XP setup, without drivers, then your fine. I know on all three of my Intel chipset boards, the drivers are only needed for a RAID install...not when using it as a single drive.
