SATA drive in MSATA slot

Hey guys,
So I have an older Intel x25 80GB laying around. I want to cram into my new Lenovo y500, using the MSATA slot. Anyone know of any adapter cables that will help me out?

Have you actually seen the size of an mSATA SSD compared to a 2.5" one? Not going to happen.

They make adapters but with how form fitting laptops are these days I doubt you can fit it.

The problem isn't the interface, it's the space required. Msata drives are stupid small compared to 2.5" drives. You'll also need to provide power.

Pretty sure that is for using an msata drive with a SATA interface. OP needs the other way around.

Sorry, only way you're going to fit that in your laptop is to either have a spare 2.5" bay or get a optical HDD caddy to replace the optical drive.

Also, looks like the optical bay might use a different interface than the standard 5v w/ SATA connector.

I would sell the 80 GB SSD and use the money to buy a $50 used msata SSD. There is at least one of these on the FS/FT forum.
