I bought a 160GB SATA drive and tried installing it on my IC7 and it would make my bios hang, slowly boot into windows, or just plain crash windows. I figured whatever the IC7 is really old maybe its just not compatible. Weird thing is one time it booted up perfect and I copied 60GB on to it.

So I get my A8N32 hook up my raptor install windows then I get the 160GB hook it up blue screens windows everytime when it starts up. So I disconnected it wait till windows starts up then plug it in. Works perfect copy another 60GB as a test no errors at all and everything runs off it. I do a scandisk and defrag and everything runs perfect no errors. I restart windows and bam bsod. Any ideas?

Thanks

Run your factory diagnostics on it.

It was a setting in the bios. I moved it from auto for Large/LBA to disable and it works perfectly.
