Need some help Guru's..

I just purchased a SATA-150 HDD.. I have an exsisting ATA100 HDD in right now.. How do I install the SATA-150 as the main drive so I can install the operating system and have it boot that HDD? I'm trying to do it where I can copy what I need off the ATA100 HDD onto the SATA so that I can trash the p0s ATA drive.. Everytime I do it, it boots with the ATA100 HDD.. I've tried making the ATA a slave but it still boots with it.

First you need to change the boot priority in BIOS to start with SATA drive.

Then you can do this in a couple of ways.
1. Install Windows on SATA drive as a fresh install without the ATA drive attached. After install, you can attach the ATA drive and use it as a second HD.

2. Use Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost to take an image dump of the ATA drive and restore it to the SATA drive. Then use the SATA as the primary boot drive.

I want to do a fresh install onto the SATA.. Im not big on the ATA drive as it's tore up pretty good.. My question;

I was reading around on Raid 0, Raid 1, etc.. If I'm not mistaken, RAID involves using multiple drives as one drive right? Not sure if any of that applies to me having only one SATA drive.. I heard someone say they had a Raid 0 setup and were loosing files.. Didnt make me too comfortable..

I have an idea: Set boot order to SATA second (CD-ROM first), install windows. Reconnect PATA drive after all is done (PC off, please!) and then copy your stuff!
