My brother is having a hard time trying to get this combo working. He has a VANTEC 6-Port SATA II 150 PCI Host Card Model UGT-ST310R along with a BIOSTAR H61MU3 LGA 1155 Intel H61 HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
 and i3 2100.

Same PSU, memory etc.

He tested the card on 2 other motherboards and could configure everything fine however with the Biostar the BIOS does not see it and he can not go into it to configure anything however Windows 7 sees the card with the Biostar motherboard.

I am not on site to help him but is there something I am missing for this configuration? I kinda want to get it working because I told him to get the combo since it was such a good deal at the time.

look for options along the lines of "quick boot" or "show option rom messages" in the BIOS.
