Hello

are there any differences between SATA 1,5G, SATA II 3G and SATA II-6G / III cables?
I noticed there are sata cables with metallic clips to fasten the cables to the port and there are cheaper cables without but I cant find anything about 3G vs. 6G.

I plan to connect hot-swap enclosures, ODDs, etc to a server and want to buy some proper, future-proof, good-quality cables for the interconnection...

Any advice?

The speeds don't really matter (it's just a label, the cable is the same), I used sata 1 cables on my ssd with no problems at all. Meritline has 3 for $1 sata cables with locking clips every once and while. They are shipped from china so it takes a while to get here. Never bought "high quality" cables before but monoprice stuff is usually pretty top notch so those should be fine.

There is no difference between the cables for SATA1, SATA2 or SATA3. Also in the 100s of SATA cables I have used at work I have never had a bad cable (no smart ecc problems) so I am not sure there is a thing as good quality versus bad quality or at least I have not had any bad quality cables..
