SATA cables with metal latch

From reading the reviews and stuff at newegg, people seem to recommend the sata cables with metal latches. like this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812123107

Im guessing it s it just to have a more secure connection. Also, is their such thing as sata 1 or sata 2 cable like 150 or 300 speed or it is both 150/300 speeds?

FWIW - the only SATA cable I've had come loose is one with a clip. YMMV

The trick to SATA cables is dont take them off and put them back on very much. A couple times is ok, but for some reason doing it a lot makes them wear out fast and makes them come out really easily. SATA cables should have come out with some kind of locking mechanism when they were introduced.

I've had a few sata cables come loose in random machines. Try to use the ones with metal clips when ever I can as I have yet to have one come loose. I'm almost at the point to just hot glue the suckers in so I don't have to worry about it. I have piles of normal sata cables sitting around.
