OK, so i'm going to build a system for my brother. I haven't built a system in about a year.

here are my questions.

How would I go about connecting a SATA harddrive and then cd/dvd and cd-rw drives through IDE? do i use the SATA1 conecttion for the harddrive and then connect the cd drives to IDE1? or IDE2? i'm a bit confused. cause in the olden days (a year ago) i would just connect a harddrive to IDE1 and the the cd drives to IDE2.

second i have a question about a motherboard. the Abit IC7-MAX3 on a Intel875 chipset. when i look at pictures for the mother board. there is this fan that is directly next to the mouse and keyboard connections.. how in the hell are you supposed to fit that thing into a case? i mean if you look at it. that fan is exactly where the power supply is supposed to be.. what's the deal.. here's a link to a pic of the motherboard.

just click on the link to the right that say's image.

i would really appreciate the help..

You can use any combination of SATA and IDE ports.

The mobo comes with a special ATX back plate for your case. It does not interfere with the Power supply.

i believe the other connections are lower than the normally are, and that's where the fan goes, the panel thing they give u will have holes to accomodate all this

just connect the sata to sata1 and the ide's however u want
they will work
