sata and ide hard drive

i have installed a 120gb ide hard drive maxtor and i also have a 120 seagate sata hdd. i was wondering if it is possible to put linux on jus one hdd like on my seagate. on my maxtor i have windows xp installed and i also want to install a version of linux.

amd athlon xp 3000+
asus a7n8x-e deluxe
120 gb maxtor ide
120 gb seagate sata
tdk cdrw
ati radeon 9600
