SATA 2 Question

SATA II is not a specification. It's merely the name of a consortium used to develop second-generation SATA features. At that meeting, a lot of ideas were thrown around, but it wasn't until the recent SATA 2.5 specification that many of the second-generation features were nailed down as requirements.

That said, all Serial ATA internal connections are electrically and mechanically backwards compatible. A drive labeled as "SATA II" is most certainly compatible with any SATA controller, though second-generation features such as hot plug, 3 Gbps transfer rate, port multiplier, and NCQ may or may not be supported.

Compliance with generally accepted "SATA II" features include support for the aforementioned second-generation features. You'll have to check with the manufacturer (manual or website) to see if these features are supported.
