Any problems here?
I'm working on my next build, I'm using an Asus A8N32-SLI motherboard and do not plan to use any type of RAID in the system... here's what I'm planning and where my question comes in:
I plan to use a Hitachi Deskstar SATA2 (3.0Gb/s) 250gig HDD as my primary drive loaded with OS, applications, etc., and intend to use an older SATA1 (1.5Gb/s) drive for my documents, image files, music, etc.
(Why you ask? I've always prefered to keep my documents on a seperate drive that is accessed less frequently and by using a drive that I have laying around I can save a hundred bucks that I can put toward that pretty new 7800 GTX.)
In that configuration will the SATA2 drive suffer any performance loss from the legacy drive on the same controller? Will it actually affect anything other than a benchmark score? Would there be any advantage to moving the swap file to the SATA1 drive?
