I'm interested as well, but I'm not willing to shell out the $40 for a VGA cable right now.

I got one off Ebay for about $15 shipped and it works great....it even looks just like the MS cable but it is a different brand.

I heard you had to be careful with some of those because of quality loss. Is that true?

I suppose so, but I haven't had any issues with the one I got. It came from Hong kong...but then again guess where the MS original comes from. ;) I also got a really cheap multimedia remote for about $12 and it looks, feels and works like a high quality remote. They even had the audacity to engrave the "Microsoft" on the back just like you see on the MS wireless controller! You have to give them points for having balls, right? :p
