I am looking for a decent budget raid controller sas raid6 pci-x. I plan to eventually upgrade equipment to something nice but need that as a minimum.
The P600 seems to fit the bill decently for a <100$ card. does any one know beyond the 3 storageworks what expanders are compatible with the p600? I hope to eventually go sas2 so newer expanders are preferred. once things get going well I will probably drop for a 600$ card or 3. I plan to have a multi tb raid 6 array the disks being split in a couple logical drives and exported to various systems as well as a larger one for the main server to use directly. most of it lower bandwidth usage for now. space and reliability being more important.
