I just received a MSI K9A2 Platinum motherboard for xmas. It has 2 SAS port and I have been looking at Raptors HHD for my boot drive but since I now have 2 SAS ports, I might as well spend the extra $20 or so for a SAS. This is the first time I would buy a SAS drive for a desktop so I could use some recommendations. I was looking at this Any thing to help me out would be great.
Systems Specs right now:
-MSI K9A2 Platinum mobo
-AMD 5000+ BE 2.6Ghz(overclocked to 3.1 on air stable)(Phenom II 940 SOON)
-Scythe SCINF-1000 Heatsink
-G.Skill DDR2-1066 2x2Gb stick, 5-5-5-15
-EVGA 8600gt 256mb
-WD 160Gb SATA primary drive, Seagate 500gb SATA data drive
-2 Samsung DL-DVD-RW
-Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1600

I would go with the velociraptor over that. The read/write speeds on it are actually faster.

I bought 2 of those and running them on my Adaptec 51645 card along with my 1tb'ers and i am very happy with them so far. And i do see they came down in price again as i bought my first two at 199 and 189 then i saw the egg selling them for 260 after i got mine. I am now thinking about buying a third to throw in and have the 3 drive sas speed.
