Which do you prefer? My friend and I are having an argument whether BBA is better than 3rd party like Sapphire. I can get a Sapphire for $10 cheaper than a BBA. He says BBA, but I say Sapphire for the price. Who do you think is right?

Bba retail normally has a slightly better warranty period, three years versus one year.

Most of the Sapphire ATI cards that I've seen are 2 years.

What's the point of a 3 year warranty? You'll sell it off, upgrade or break it before the end of that 3 years anyways! :p

See if you can find the tech specs on the cards, things like what the ram is rated at in ns. Sapphire's website is NOT a good place to find these things, as it lists(for example) the atlantis 9600 pro as having 2.8ns ram, a 330mhz default ram clock speed, a 256bit memory bus, and 8 pixel pipelines.(which are all incorrect, as the card only comes with 3.3ns ram, 300mhz default ram clock speed, a 128bit memory bus just like all 9600 pro's, and 4 pixel pipelines also just like all 9600 pro's).

Does anybody of these differences? I have checked reviews, and they haven't given anything on these terms.

From what I've seen, Sapphire cards have performed slightly better in benchmarks than any other brand.

(My first on [H], woo)

Spewn, its worth noting that there are tons of different versions of each sapphire card out there. EG., from the documents on them I have now, they are currently making and selling 21 variants of the 9600xt alone. Look at the docs on their website more closely.

i though sapphires had worse memory on them or it could just be my friend making up bogus like normal ( idunnok on hard forum )

Funny thing; when I was sent a list of their cards, by one of the tech reps from their website(when I questioned the specs posted on their website, which by the way make *NO SENSE*, considering radeon 9600 cards DO NOT have a 256bit memory bus, or 8 pixel pipelines, not the xt's, not the pro's, not the np's, none), guess what...they don't make 9600 pro's! But wait, of course they do, they're called atlantis, and they come in a nice blue and black box...which is advertised on their website...but not in their product listing sheet. Funny. I didn't get a reply after pointing out that there was no listing of 9600pro cards on that sheet.

ugh, XLS......

Can someone with office save those in a universal or a someone-without-office format?

I've been meaning to look at those, but I can't find any XLS-reading free/shareware apps...

I hate Office and I'm too poor to buy it anyways.

the only difference is the box and software bundles and maybe card design, they run off the same cores and most of the time speeds
