My Sapphire 4850X2 bit the dust this weekend...at least I think I it did. It was running fine in my system, i got up to do some stuff, and came back to it about 20 minutes later with the fans' running at 100% with no picture on the LCD. I shut the computer down, reinstalled it (on the motherboard) x2 with the same result. The computer doesn't post with it in either (boots up ok without it in, but I don't have another PCI-X card to test with). I also have two red LEDs light up on it, which are D25 and D1601.

Anyways I put in a ticket Saturday afternoon on their website and still haven't heard anything from them..either acknowledging they got it or anything. How long does it take for them to answer you?

I'm halfway tempted to get a whole new system (since the current one is nearly 3 1/2 yrs old) but financially isn't not the smartest thing to do at the time..but I'll go that route if its the mobo and not the video card.

They might not have a 4850 X2 in stock...kind of a rare card. And they don't upgrade.

Go figure...

I just checked the website and they told me to contact Althon Micro...so I'll see how this works out...

When one of my 5970s bit the dust last week I personally drove it to Althon Micro in walnut rather than shipping it because I was going to be in the area anyway. They turned it around and had another 5970 for me to pick up in 3 days.

For your card if your warranty is still good they have to honor it some how. You better call them. The most helpful guy there was "tony".
