I saw sapphire rx480 nitro is supplied with an 8 pin connector, but its priced at around 50€ more, do guyz think its worth it?

Also the two fans setup i think isnt as loud as default amd setting, so that also brings something to the table.

The Nitro along with the MSI version are probably the best 480's on the market. If you can find one, go for it.

I did, i am just second guessing myself. I am waiting for the re-stock on mindfactory.

Hopefully that 8 pin connector will also help for a longer lasting system.

looking at the performance difference between rx470 vs rx480 and how the aftermarket rx470 sustain their clocks, if you don't need more than 4gb of ram I would rather save the cash and go with msi rx 470. But if you need 8gb then yea go for rx480. Msi and sapphire seem to be the best all around.

Is this for a 4gb or 8gb model?

If its the 8gb, note that you can get a 1060 for about $270, for a basic aftermarket card. And it will outpreform the 480 by quite a bit. Or downgrade to the RX 470, as others have said, since it preforms almost as good.

... i checked my store and basicly, i see the price is prity much the same around 300€, so if they will have long waiting time for rx480 i will just go for 1060 that is in stock.

I see tho 1060 doesnt support sli mode, which is a big downer, since i can pair two 480 and ride them into the sunset for decades :p and getting 1080 performance for games that support crossfire.

I wouldn't worry to much about the 1060 not supporting SLI. With DX12 SLI and Crossfire will play second fiddle to EMA and as far as I have read. Any 2 cards will work together, be it AMD and or Nvidia. So the 1060 will support EMA. So long as the developer is willing to support it. That still remains to be seen though.

As Madness said, if you're willing to buy two AMD GPUs based on the promise that EMA will kick off then the lack of SLI shouldn't bother you because the exact same thing will apply to the 1060.

In fact it's only NV who have openly committed to SLI support, AMD just keep playing the DX12/EMA card

Sorry but how has AMD not openly supported CF when they showcased it against the 1080 in their own presentation?

IIRC they used the 8pin on the Nitro so they could shift some of the power away from the PCIE connector, and give it more juice in general.

Well anyway since ofc rx480 nitro is no where to be seen and also they reported they wont have sandisk on stock, i cancled the disk and rx480 and took 1070 instead ... cuz upgrading 1070 in a few years with maybe another 1070 will be much better then 2 rx480 especialy for 1440p. (division runs at almoast 120 fps with sli 1070), so if we get that performance on snowdrop engine, i think it should also work nice with id tech + saber engine.

true and that is what i ment with longer lasting, but it doesnt matter, i found an alternative - 1070, which runs more stable fps.
