newegg has the Sapphire Radeon HD 2400PRO 256MB HDCP PCI-Express Video Card for a low $49.99. $4.99 Three Day Shipping. Tax in CA, NJ, PR, TN.

Nice HTPC card if absolutely no gaming is done. I would rather have an 8500/8600 though they aren't exactly gaming cards either.

how do these run compared to the older x series? around an x600? i know the 2600xt runs like around an x850xt.

UT2004 will probably play at that resolution with no AA enabled. My old Ti4200 go could play UT2003 @ 1680x1050, so that's not much of a feat for a brand new card. ;)

instead of buying crappy new cards like this one, get a good older card liek x800 or 6600
for same price

NEGATIVE

Easy voltmod gets you 7900 performance

i just bought one, itll do UT2004 1680x1050 yes?
It's a 64 bit card and has only 6.4 GB/s memory bandwidth. In comparison, a five year old Radeon 9600pro has 9.6 GB/s. Memory bandwidth is important for such a high resolution.

it will at shitty fps, for a consistent 85fps + you should pass
UT2004 is very playable at 40fps average. Plus the game scales well with hardware and doesn't look bad even if you have to turn down the details from high.

For gaming, the low end cards really aren't interesting. I'd rather have something like this for $75 shipped (after coupon code) when they come back in stock: http://shop.ati.com/product.asp?sku=3130802 I bought a couple back in December and they are still worth it IMO.

Bought one of these a few days ago for my new HTPC. Wish it came with a DVI --> HDMI adapter so I wouldn't have to buy one separately though.
