Hey there!
I just got myself the other day, a Sapphire 9800pro installed it, reformatted and installed the 4.2's and mobo drivers and all.

Played my game (Planetside) everything worked great, good picture, fps, and evrything I would expect of this card.

3 days go by, boot up computer, load game and I am getting artifacting all over, but just game.

My only way to solve this problem was to turn OFF fastwrites.

Guess my question is, do I have a bad card? Is it typical to have to turn off FastWrites?

ya i think a lot of people have had that problem. turning off fastwrite just fixes it, but you wont be losing anything by turning off fastwrite i dont think. i dont exactly know what causes it. sorry
 
i have mine off and i never got that problem with planetside. I do love its random lockups if you run say trillian or anything else that goes to the system tray GJ planetside.

and you wont lose and noticable performance with fastwrites off.

the 3dmark03 score for mine on and off had a difference of about 50 points.
