Im using a 7950 with the official AMD drivers. I can play games and the card functions well but for one problem. When I leave the PC for an hour or so the image wont recover. The monitor switches off after 15 mins as it is supposed to and likewise the PC is set not to sleep which it does not. But when I hit the keyboard to switch the monitor back on there is no image. The PC is still on but no image. I have to switch off at the mains and restart. Anyone else experienced this?

Try either not letting the monitor switch off or s1 or s3 sleep.

When the monitor goes to sleep, the card goes to ultra low power mode.

Then the video driver crashes and won't recover, often.. sometimes mine does, sometimes it doesn't.

Using the -xcl command to extend clock limits through afterburner has helped mine but sometimes I still get a driver crash when my monitor goes to sleep, but lockups haven't been 100% like they were before.

To Magnus

I am going to do that but first have to solve my computer waking itself as it tends to. Really want to avoid having to spend the time looking for what wakes it. A screensaver is an option too but id rather just solve the problem. The card cost me nearly GBP 400 and i would prefer it worked as it is supposed to. Though I suspect it is probably driver related.
