sapphire 7950 and temp issue.

i have never seen this before. i have sapphire 7950 with an accelero cooler attached. im currently running it at 1000 core 1575 memory with 1.25v im sure i can go higher but for now im happy and its stable. anyway under load my temps never go above 50 and the vrm temps are usually within a few degrees of the core temp. when the card is running in 2d mode the temps are 28 for both core and vrm. again im happy.
ive noticed however when the my screen goes into standby and the computer is idle when i come back and the screen kicks on my temps are mid 50s and my vrm temps are in the 60s. wtf is going on i would think if the card is powering down then my temps should be just as low if not lower as they are in 2d desktop mode. anyone else seen this?

my guess is when you turn the monitor back on the card kicks into full load before resetting back to 2D clocks.

the only other idea i can think of is if you have the ability to record your temps for say 10-15 minutes.. record 2-3 minutes with the monitor on.. turn the monitor off for 10 minutes turn it back on and see what the temps were over that 10 minutes of having the monitor off. see if they went down or if they all went up while the monitor was off.
