Hi guys

Palnning to get a 4870 card from newegg, bit im a bit confused. I'd like to know if you guys have any idea on the difference between Sapphires 100243 and 100259 model?

I believe the 259 has a bigger fan, and a better cooler in general. It is supposed to run a bit cooler and probably the better choice.

Sapphire's HD4870 versions

Sapphire 100243L (512MB) and 100243-1GL (1GB)
Reference PCB design; 3+2 phase digital VRMs
Reference dual-slot exhausting blower-fan heatpipe-based cooler
Cooler exhausts all air outside of the case
Stock clocks 750/900
VRM temperature monitoring
Allows for extended software voltage modification

Sapphire 100243TXSR (512MB)
Reference PCB design; 3+2 phase digital VRMs
Non-reference "Vapor-X" dual-slot semi-exhausting standard-bladed 80mm fan heatpipe-based cooler
Cooler exhausts some air outside of the case and the rest back into the case
OC'ed clocks 780/1000
VRM temperature monitoring
Allows for extended software voltage modification

Sapphire 100243-1GTXSR (1GB)
Non-reference PCB design; 3+1 phase analog VRMs
Non-reference "Vapor-X" dual-slot semi-exhausting standard-bladed 80mm fan heatpipe-based cooler
Cooler exhausts some air outside of the case and the rest back into the case
OC'ed clocks 780/1000
No VRM temperature monitoring
No extended software voltage modification

Sapphire 100259L (512MB) and 100259-1GL (1GB)
Non-reference PCB design; 3+1 phase analog VRMs
Non-reference dual-slot semi-exhausting standard-bladed 80mm fan heatpipe-based cooler
Cooler exhausts some air outside of the case and the rest back into the case
Stock clocks 750/900
No VRM temperature monitoring
No extended software voltage modification

Is that really the case, that the 512Mb Vapor X version has VRM temp monitoring, and the same card with 1Gb doesn't? And also 3+2 phase digital vs 3+1 phase analog VRM's? I thought they were identical cards apart from the ram?
