Sapphire 3650

XFX has overclocked 8600 GT for $110 (tigerdirect), clock @ 680MHz. It is much faster than 3650.

I plan on buying one of the new ATI cards and have been reading alot on them over the past few weeks. I dont have any link to back it up but initial reports from nmerous sites have it going back and forth with a 2600xt(wins on some games loses on others). The 8600GTS beat the 2600xt so it shouldtrump it as the previous poster stated.

The selling point for the 3650 is low power consumption(55nm) and ATI PowerPlay technology. Im holding out to see some indepth reviews on HTPC usuage. I want to see if IQ improved or anything else was improved on video playback.

Better yet, get a 9600GT (soon to be released) or a slightly slower 3850. They're both a bit more than the cards you're looking at, but not much. Those are the best value cards.

eh? I haven't heard any definitive information as to when the 9600GT is going to be released other then "soon" or February. Then I hear all Nvidia's products got pushed back to March, so I dunno. A link would be appreciated. :)

No definative info on the 9600GT yet. Nvidia's cards maybe delayed but who knows for certain. Intel's 45nm was suppose to be pushed back as well but the duals ended up coming out.

That 8600 GT is overclocked to 8600 GTS speeds, 3650 is no way as fast as a GTS.
