Hi All,
I'm not normally one for starting or indulging in speculative threads I may be starting one here. So apologies in advance to those that don't appreciate that kind of thing. I can't help it.
Anyway, I'm mulling over whether to wait for sandybridge laptops and motherboards to appear before buying a new laptop. As the architecture is significantly overhauled I see the impact on the mobile platform being quite significant and very positive.
However, what I'm unsure of is two things:
- The expected lead time between the CPU's release in Jan and it appearing in notebooks from the likes of Dell and HP.
- The lead time between the new processor appearing in US laptops and then appearing in the UK where I live. As UK costumers seem to get the thin end of the service (and price) wedge from most companies this is a real concern to me.
Regards,
Dave
