Which one is going to get me the most PPD?

Sabertooth + i7-950
SB Mobo + 2600k

I pretty much run bigadv...how much of an effect is having triple channel vs dual channel?

Seems that i can achieve much higher clocks on SB opposed to X58.

Thoughts?

Sandy Bridge will get you more PPD. The only better single-CPU setup would be a 6-core Gulftown machine.

memory speeds are near identical on dual and tri channel. if you look at the benchmarks. wont matter for F@H

the 2600k will be more PPD. over the 950. Still best single CPU is a hex core.

It is actually significant - the 2600K will push 50K ppd, where the 950 would be lucky to see 35K ppd. Plus, the 2600K would draw ~50W less power. The only thing you lose is the $100 or so that the 2600K system would cost and the fact that you do not have an upgrade option.

A 3.5Ghz sandy does tthe same ppd as my 4.1Ghz 950.

The 4.5 sandy does 10k ppd more than a 950 and can get even higher oc... for 16k more than a 950.

ok well i think ill will going to MC on sunday. Any retrogradations on boards? Do all of the SB boards have UEFI?

definitely would want that, so i can dual boot some OSX :D

The lower end Gigabyte boards have load line calibration issues...ie the setting doesn't work well at the moment. It's supposed to be fixed though, since supposedly the UD5 had the issue also.

That said, I had no real issues getting up to 4.5ghz on a P67a-ud3. I did have to set vcore to 1.33 in bios though and it drops down to 1.26 while folding.
