I'm not too knowledgeable about the SB Turbo Boost feature. I want to know how does the Turbo Boost work. Do I have to set it in the BIOS or OC to get it to work, or it will do it automatically. It would be nice to have the boost to 3.7ghz once I start playing games like BFBC2, etc.

Thanks.

Turbo boost has different parameters that control the speed increases. By default it should be enabled in the bios.

For the 2500K, when power and temperature are below a certain threshold:
all 4 cores active: clocks up to 3.4GHz
2/3 cores active: clocks up to 3.6GHz
1 core active: clocks up to 3.7GHz

I believe you can also separately increase the amount of turbo boost in each of those situations up to another 400MHz each. You have an unlocked processor so you can also do regular overclocking.

BC2 will use all 4 cores, so you might not see more than a 100MHz bump while playing unless you change the turbo boost options.

You know which option in the BIOS to change the Turbo Boost?
