Sandisk is running a stackable rebate program on their Extreme III, Extreme IV and Extreme Ducati brand flash memories.

This is going on at many different retailers and can knock the price/gb for a 4gb Extreme III CF to $7 and change or less. You can get a rebate on up to three different products, but you will get more if you buy 2 or 3 of the same thing.

Here is the link to the rebate on Adorama's website.
Rebate Form URL

I bought my 3x 4GB Extreme III SD from Beach Camera through Amazon for $6.28 each after $110 rebate. Keep checking Amazon for lowest price, there's no problem with the rebate buying from Amazon.

Be careful with that, as your receipt will have to emphasize the "Beach Camera" part- not the Amazon part. Amazon isn't mentioned on the rebate form anywhere.

A rep from adorama answered the same question earlier on another forum. You can use the packing slip that they put in the box. It will be from where ever you bought it. I bought from adorama (through amazon) because they had the cheapest price I could find, and if you take the rebate in the form of an adorama gift card instead of a visa check card they'll give you an extra 10%.

Beach Camera included the rebate form and their own invoice in the box, Amazon is only listed as sales rep :).

Why do cameras take CF and not SD! Gahhhhhhh! Even with the rebate these prices are high. Taking pictures with my 20d, do you think I could just buy a generic card from Newegg and be ok? Do I really need the fast memory?

Transcend 133x... $25 for a 4GB @ Newegg... and faster than my Sandisk Ultra II ...

Even with burst speeds @ 5fps, you won't need faster than a 133x... imo...

dam!! when does this expire?

5FPS - and shoot raw you will, add on noise filtering.. and you do, trust me, on my 2G extrme III i had i was often wiating for the card to catch up after about 6-7 pics on my 20D

What are you shooting at 5fps that needs noise-filtering?

Raw... again... maybe...

Expires end of June..

sweetness. picked up 3 16gb Extreme III CF cards and a 8gb SDHC extreme III

what a sweet freaking rebate. I never go for rebates, but this one is just too good to pass up. This way, I can through a couple of my 8gb cards in my glovebox so I never leave all my cards in front of the computer.

And yes, turn off that stupid "noise filtering." It's not very good at preventing/erasing noise, and just slows your camera waaaay down. (I believe it needs an extra bit of time at least as long as the initial shutter speed just for in camera processing). Get noise ninja and you'll be much happier with better results and a faster camera.

Yea somehow my D100 got noise filtering turned on and I was getting 2-3 shots in reserve for my burst and couldn't figure out why until someone was like "check your noise filtering" D=?, I'm shooting outdoors anyways with a 180 2.8 so now I'm back up to 6-7 in reserve... @ 3fps... :D

Either way, I've tried faster cards in the D100 and it never mattered, which is why I grabbed 133 Transcends...

Once I upgrade my camera, I'm definitely upgrading my cards, that won't be for a while though... hopefully within June though so I can get in on this rebate :D
