San Andreas + X800XL = Lockups

Hey guys.. I just bought San Andreas.. and it seems to lock up after ~15 minutes of gameplay.. it sounds like the sound is looping over and over again. I don't think its the temperatures of my video card, or the power supply.. the rails are spot on. Do you think its possibly a driver issue?
 
lol, i dont know about ur mobo, but sometimes in certain games n my old pc (Nforce2ultra400) the nforce required new drivers, and if u do not isntall them my x800xl used to put smartgart settings all to off and 0xagp, go to driver and make sure urs is all the way up
 
Just to add to this, when I initially installed gta:sa I was using 5.5's and having minor artifact/crashing issues. Changed to 5.6 and didnt help.

Then I did a complete reinstall of the 5.6 cats as per rage3d.com and turned off fastwrites in my bios. No problems at all now.
