Samsung's hexamonitor

so this thing is supposed to cost between $1600 and $3200 for 6x23/24" monitors?

you can buy monitors independently and some form of stand for less than that today

That's a good point. I think I'll wait until after Christmas and see if the price of the F2380 monitor's come down (even just a little), pick up a 6 monitor stand for about $200 and build a new system based on Eyefinity-6.

Just read the F2380 thread :( looks like serious ghosting issues

wow!

This may the be the replacement for my aging Westy 37"!

Eyefinity is about the Video card, doesnt require a AMD Processor though, right?

The F2380 does not have display port, so no, that is not the monitor.

I don't think you want to spend the extra money for 6 DP monitors, you only need 2, in fact you only need 2 adapters if it make sense $$$ wise.

You asked if the F2380 was the monitor in their Eyefinity display, I said that it isn't because it doesn't have Displayport. The Eyefinity displays will have Displayport, uniform slim bezels with no lights or buttons on the front, and will most likely be TN panels to try and keep the cost down although we can hope that it might be an e-IPS. Personally if it is e-IPS and I can buy 3 for ~$300 or less per monitor I am sold.

Thank you for the repsonse!

Again, this is so promising! I really hope the Display manufactuirers can get to zero bezel ... just the same.

Althougha giant LCD would accomplish much the same. ( if it supported massive res.. my Westy is massive, but still 1080p.. which does squander some of that massiveness )

A bezel right through the middle of the screen? No thanks. Unfortunately you'd need at least nine monitors (3x3) (or the cheaper alternative, 1x3 but it isn't as cool ;)) for this to make sense for gaming (sure, many games would work fine with 2x3 monitors but seems like a stupid limitation for such an expensive setup).

30" WQXGA
56" WQUXGA

still not enough pixels?

The F2380 is not a gaming monitor at all, it is made for desktop/graphic work and is pretty good at it from what I have seen. But it has a lot of lag/ghosting if you try to use it for gaming...

it states they will be PVA's

PVA technology inherently has serious input lag issues. This setup will be visually impressive, but not functional at all. Lame.

No it doesn't, it says that the arm is capable of holding up to 6 23" PVA displays. However the ultra thin bezel monitors are 22" and the panel type has not been announced yet.

You are correct sir, I misread.

However, samsung doesn't make any 22" IPS panels, do they? Samsung seems to really be trying to push their cPVA panels....

I just expect it to be PVA, we'll see.

If it's Samsung, it'll be PVA. That's just Samsung's panel type, as a rule they don't do IPS and only do PVA.

it'll be functional, just not for "extreme gamers" who want 2ms end to end

but I don't think "extreme gamers" would want lines all through their image either (thats probably the bigger issue)

That doesn't seems to get as thin as their own 460UTn, which would only leave a gap of 7.3mm between displays, and it's a freaking 46" panel.
The mount is really nice, but the bezels, as far as the pictures goes, doesn't seems all that spetacular to me.
