Hey i was wondering if there was a way to stress test a monitor. I sold a monitor to a person in perfectly good shape and he says the screen flickers pink. I tested HDMI, DVI, VGA, Cable, and all seems to work fine over 3 hours. I never had this problem before so i was wondering if there was a way to stress test the monitor. Any suggestions would help. Thanks

p.s. i really think it was his driver problem but any help would work. thanks

The best way I know to show him is to have him bring the monitor back and you show him that it works. Of course if it was sold by mail that would be hard to do.

yeah sold via craigslist so he did bring it back. I tested VGA for 10 minutes with some random hulu video, HDMI with my xbox ran final fantasy XIII fine, DVI with a mac and cable with the antenna. All was fine but he INSISTS that the screen flickered pink and would not show anything when he used the VGA cable.

I'm guessing if he was using the VGA cable, it was a very old graphics card cuz the vga i'm using is on a old laptop but it works. He says screen stays/flickers pink.

Since i gave him a refund, i've been watching lord of the rings and it looks damn good in blu ray XD. my verdict is still a good monitor but i would still like to stress test it somehow if possible

I don't think there's a way to stress a monitor besides just using it

If you have a problem with the monitor your warranty is good for 3 years. The monitor came out in 2008, so you should still have 6-12 months left on it.

You might have asked him to bring either his desktop/laptop or at least his cables to see if the problem lies there. I've seen a monitor flicker to different hues due to a bad VGA cable.

yeah thats what i was thinking too. Thanks everyone =) monitor only came out in 2008 that is true. I will see what samsung is willing to do.
