Im having a totally random shut-off problem with my T220 while it is in use, i had a 226BW before this and i never had any remotely similar issues.

I've already swapped the power cable 3 times and tried to use my CPU's power cable for the monitor and still getting the same problem. Clearly this is not interrupted power since manual unplugging and pluggin the monitor resumes the last power state. Its like something is causing it to go into power off mode.

Its not a graphics card issue also since i changed my 8800GT to a GTX285 and still getting this problem, the irritating part is that this is my 2nd T220 with the very same issue so something is not right here, maybe a batch issue ?

I had the same problem with a T220 last fall. The backlight bleed was really bad too. I talked to a CS rep. at Samsung, and she told me to return it (that something was wrong with the unit). I took it back to CC and got my money back. If it's still under warranty return it.

mine does it also, like maybe once a week. i doesnt really bug me, i just have to turn it back on, i still love the monitor

i think it happens when my room gets too hot.

Even once a month is annoying for me, my room temps are pretty fine though and ventilation is pretty good.

I gotta say I've never had this problem, I have the T220, had it for about 3 months I think now...I'll keep an eye out though XD

My friend had to install a fan into the back of his Samsung LCD to keep it working.

different model, and it was getting corrupted on the screen unless he cooled the electronics

i'd imagine the same or similar problem could trigger power off

Starting to see a patter here, If the monitor is left connected ( but turned off ) to the power outlet over a long period of time ( say over night ) it will surely trigger the random power off on the next day.

Well after almost a year of no issues in regards to this now its back, when I first had the issue I was staying on a different place and my retailer it could really be the power grid on the location, so when our house was finished for renovation I fired up the monitor and never had issue for almost close to a year until last 2 weeks ago, it starts to power off once again...

T220 here with the same problem. Looks like it turns itself off but then comes back. The picture is gone for about 1-2 seconds. Really annoying.

I found this thread where the guy traced it back to blown capacitors on the LCD's power supply.

More people are having this problem, for example this thread. Just google "samsung t220 random"
