At some place I read that less platters may mean lower thermal levels and/or lower noise.
If I remember correctly, the Samsung spinpoint T166 500GB model has 3 platters (166*3=498??). There are at least 400GB and 320GB(166*2=332??) versions available.
I can only find reviews of the 500GB versions.
Do the lower sized models have less platters?
If they do, would it make a difference?
