Samsung SyncMaster F2080 and F2380

Thanks for the link; this is going on my short list.

I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive (Sub $400) monitor for Digital Art - response time really doesn’t matter. Looks like this may fit the bill ;)

"cPVA is circular PVA, which is also improved technology, not a crappy version of S-PVA. Supposedly, cPVA uses circularly-polarized light to greatly improve contrast, response times, and reflectivity at an angle."
It's not circular PVA. I thought that's what it might have been based on the documents linked, but after seeing the F2380, it seems to be something else. I could tell by Haidinger's brush that it was vertically polarized.

And the following lows:
  • High response time
  • Loss of darkest details in shadows
  • Gamma and tonality shift when viewed from a side.

They mentioned the same problems I did in my review: http://www.hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1034329391&postcount=34

Cons:
Poor pixel response, horrible ghosting
Gamma shifting at slight angles
Shadow details are crushed without calibration
Possible dithering issue with Macs running Leopard
