Samsung SyncMaster 970P and it's look?

Do you think that Samsung SyncMaster 970P's look is cool or not?

Only when co-ordinated with the other hardware. A white case perhaps, like the Antec P150 sitting beside it will help it look a lot better.

The base is too light and feals cheep. The thing needs some wieght to it.

I like how it looks but no OSD would absolutely suck. I like doing things in hardware rather than in software.

i agree, it needs a lead base or something so it doesn't feel like it'll flop over and crack or something. aesthetically, it doesn't bother me one way or another.

The base is TOO huge.... the screen is NOT wide.... The whole swivel thing is interesting, but do you REALLY need it? and the color white on samsung panels, isnt really white, 1 degree off center...

sure it says its 178/178, but have a look for urself, the white changes to light yellow...

I owned the Samsung 172T (back when it came out, it was the best LCD panel ever, 25ms, 176/176) and that was good for its time...
Then went with Samsung 173P+ which frankly is much better looking than the 970P... and the only technical improvement is instead of 8ms, they've gone to 6ms... I changed the 173P+ cause samsung claimed it was 178/178 1000:1, but it was REALLY REALLY BAD, when u looked at the monitor straight on, you could see different colors/contrasts through different eyes... giving it a BAD 3D effect....
Finally i went with Samsung 940MW, cause it was widescreen and a HDTV, and it made a buzzing noise, as well as NASTY viewing angles, dispite the 160/160 claimed viewing angles..

Now i am a proud owner of the ViewSonic VX2025WM 20.1" Widescreen LCD
Samsung is not what it used to be before (interms of LCD monitors), think of it this way Viewsonic almost only specializes in MONITORS..... and Viewsonic as well as Samsung are investing in LED based LCD monitors.....

Just so you know, Viewsonic doesn't make any of their own LCDs. Most of them come from AU Optronics. Your VX2025WM is an AUO LCD.

My point was that, i was a hardcore Samsung LCD fan, but i came to terms and accepted the fact that they are no longer the best in that field.... kinda like back when "National" electronics was the best
