Samsung SyncMaster 930B

got mine 2 days ago. and Im having a blast.

Seeing things my old 19inch CRT never did before. ie: the shadows in Half-life2 that move and change when you move about with the flashlight. Was very nice.

Im running this analog have to wait till tuesday till my digital cable comes in... thats about the only thing I can say negative... doesnt come with digital cable..

And you're sure this is a 930B not a 940B right? I'm really not sure if the 940B would even be worth looking for, given they have the same refresh times.

I love my 930b! I've had it for a couple months, playing NFSU2, Doom3, HalfLife 1 & 2, and some RTS, and I must say I definitely don't miss my 21" Trinitron 95% of the time. The only thing that sucks (and this is true of almost all lcd's) is with all of the lights off, the blacks aren't really black. This is an issue with all LCD's, so I wouldn't hold this against the 930b.

8.5/10, as far as LCD's go

On a side note, what does that picture have to do with your question? And what the hell is wrong with it?!

the 940B is on sale at Newegg for $339 right now, i just ordered it last night...

I'm going for the 930B because I'll be working at the store that sells it and getting an employee discount of a generous amount.

oh yea its a 930b... tonight just for a giggle I put on Far Cry.. I only have gotten like a couple of maps into it before. Tonight with my new 6800gt, 2gigs of ram and this monitor.. wow.. now I see what everyone was talking about. Think this time I may just have to finish the game. Its much more fun now.

Ghosting apparent?

I just picked up a 930b today at best buy for 399 with a 100 dollar rebate. It looks pretty amazing compared to the 17" crap i had before. Ive never had experiance with lcd's before, and i am running in analog right now, but its far and beyond better. So much bigger, much brighter, and well defined for all the screen. no dead pixels either as that was a big concern.
5 hours into my visual basic project and the extra sreen realestate is awesome.

hmm this is a TN panel. How is it that the viewing angle is so good?

I have a 193p+ and I thought i paid a lot for it ($500)

what is the TN panel?
i can watch videos from my bed which is.....probably around 45degrees off. on a line from the base, and it looks normal. not sure how they are rated but its quite comparable to my crt i had.

the 930b is a TN panel, which is supposed to have bad viewing angles but for some reason this one is pretty good; 160 degrees.

my 193p+, which is a pva panel has 178 degree viewing angle.

Any idea what the difference is between the 930B and the 940B? I myself am considering a 930BF.

I am trying to sell my 2005fpw. I just dont use widescreen like I should, so I figured I should go ahead and get a 19" standard LCD. I have a thread going here, but no one seems to answer, they only read. So I have had to choose my own LCD. Between the 2 lcd's, the 930BF and 940B, which one would you choose? Also, is there any other LCD you might choose over these, if so, newegg link me please!
