Hey,

I picked up this monitor at Circuit City - I absolutely love it 19" 8 MS Response - Does great on games!!!

My question is - what does the settings need to be as into the resolution and refresh rate and all that good stuff...

Still new to this stuff.

Heya bud,

Well, based on the website, that monitor's native resolution 1280x1024. So it should run best at that res. It will do lower but will not be best quality. As for refresh rate, LCDs are normally stuck at 60-65Mhz. So, whatever windows has it at default is the one it will work at.
Have fun.

I am using 75 for the refresh rate and it works great. Great monitor isn't it?

I'm also using 75 , no problems here,
Bought it at best buy, for $350, with a $50 rebate.

Great monitor for the price, no ghosting i can see playing hl-2 , quake 4 :p

I know this is all a personal thing, as some people can, and others cannot see ghosting, but this monitor has significant enough ghosting for me personally to be badly distracting in any fps. My brother on the other hand sees no ghosting on it. That being said its not as bad as others I've seen, but its there. While I dont use it for gaming, it is a very good monitor for everything else. I really love the geometry, crisp text, and vibrant colors of lcd. I agree it on it being an excellent overall purchase.

edit: and the black is actually very black, which I was incredibly pleased with.
Also: this monitor is very well worth picking up a dvi cable for, as text sharpness increases significantly. I got the $21 dvi cable from best buy's pc department.

I absolutely love my Samsung monitor. I see no ghosting in WoW, HL2, or EQ2 and I'm really picky about that type of thing. Definitely recommended in my view.

The only game I have played so far with mine is EVE and I haven't noticed any ghosting yet. I do want to pick up a DVI cable, but the only one they had at CompUSA was $80. I am going to find one cheaper somewhere else.
