Samsung Plasma and Dish Network

I just bought a samsung plasma tv (PN50B850) and hooked it up to my dish network receiver (model 625) which is standard definition (no HD programming)..

The image is grainy and I have tried everything so far. Do I need to upgrade my receiver to a HD one?

yes, but it won't produce any miracles for the SD channels, and even certain HD channels won't look perfect.

It's a known issue often discussed here.
