Samsung P2370 Issue NEED HELP PLZ!

ok well..i recently bought a samsung p2370 and when i hooked the monitor up it showed these NUMEROUS vertical red lines all over the place..im guessing its the monitor or graphics card. i'll try to get a pic if possible but at the moment it seems like i can't.

This is with DVI connection to my computer..i made sure everything was securely plugged and tightened. Played with my graphics card settings too..no help..i have a sapphire radeon 4830. THEN i tried using a VGA connection instead of dvi and everything looked fine. just not as crisp as the DVI connection. So now i'm truly stumped cuz i've tried everything i know from monitor drivers to graphics card drivers.Therefore, right now i'm using the VGA connection since its the best option for now.

Please help!! I want to use a DVI connection since it looks so much better! Thanks in advance for any advice!!

That might be a graphics card problem. My friend had the same issue (with Eizo screen). They've sent him a seond monitor and it turned out the same ;-) Only then he figured out that his GPU went bad...

Plug it in to a different computer with DVI. Then you'll see for sure.

i've tried a different cable just now..same result..it couldn't possibly be my graphics card because i tried it out on my cousins 24 inch lcd monitor using DVI and it worked just fine.

im thinking it could it be my monitor...gahh this sucks!!
