Gentz said:MZ6, compared to the 2005FPW does the 970P also have better color reproduction and less color issues (banding, etc)? I'm still trying to decide between these two.
MZ6 said:I don't have the 2005FPW anymore but from what I remember, the 2005FPW had the best overall color reproduction of any LCD monitor that I had. The whole picture on the 2005FPW seems "richer" akin to a CRT, although the blacks were deeper and the colors might have been a bit more accurate on the 970P (I didn't calibrate them). The 2005FPW had the least banding.
The 2005FPW also had the best viewing angles. Whereas a TN screen turn black immediately, the S-PVA panel like the 970P turns white. The 2005FPW never changed no matter what angled you look.
For outside of gaming, the 2005FPW is a better monitor unless you need deep blacks.

I mainly use my monitor for Painter and Photoshop work (not professional though), general computer stuff like browsing, and the occasional movie and game. Looking at this, it seems like the 2005FPW would be the better suited monitor, but the backlight issue for the 2005fpw balances the two LCDs out a bit, I think. That is my dilemma.
